WA farming family opts for solar power battery system for costly grid connection

When Katherine Naughton's family moved to a farm regarding Northam, north-east of Perth, this was going to cost them up to $60, 000 to connect their house to the power company.
But for just two thirds of that pricetag they have been able to install a solar power space system, harnessing all of their electrical must have from the sun.

Mr Hayes said the uptake of battery power storage would take off in the same way caribbean solar panels have.

Still battery systems pose a serious possibilities to Western Power's traditional power network.
Curtin University's Sustainability Cover plan Institute's Jemma Green said the force grid will become less relevant.
"The grid will have a place but it will be more of a back up system as electric source prices go up even further and the associated with solar and batteries decline supplemental, the economics of grid defection are going to stack up sooner.
"This will have an impact on the utilisation of the power and therefore the revenue that the government at the present time derives from using it.
"I believe that the grid and the business types of the utilities, that is the generators and poles and wires will need to develop to deal with this changing energy program which is effectively a centralised combined with decentralised energy model, " Microsof company Green said.
